ODI-HK will assist and work in cooperation with OGCIO to deliver the specific policy measure of opening up more Government data for social policy research, economic development and public participation in policy formulation and discussion. The objective is to improve Open Data service delivery in Hong Kong by providing consultation and bridge-building capacity to the best “Open Data” practices from around the world.
The specific objectives and outcomes are:
• Specific policies and implementation measures to help data owners to meet the “Open Data” needs of data users in private, non-government and government sectors.
• Meetings, seminars and events and conferences will bring together data owners and data users to exchange ideas and to improve the effectiveness of service delivery.
• ODI-HK is designed to bring tangible social impact and business impact to Hong Kong through improved policy development and service delivery on the subject of “Open Data”. The outputs and outcomes of ODI-HK will also have direct and indirect impact on Hong Kong’s ratings in international competitiveness and innovation indexes.
