Equal Rights in Swedish Parliament

文章 lok »

On this post, we are sharing some facts about Swedish Parliament which might give you some new thoughts on the form of institutions:

You may check out the video on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PsJ-irppCJU as the following is just an extract:
When political work is considered as public good, the regional politicians don’t receive a salary.
What is more, the package for Members of Parliament (MPs) is only minimum:

-three cars are used only in official occasion as this is not necessary when all MPs are encouraged to use public transport with a yearly ticket
-for travelling outside the country, they could only choose the cheapest option. Even for renting a car, they must choose the shortest possible route max SEK50,000
-salary is fixed at SEK40,000, less than a local primary school teacher

Therefore, they have to do all by themselves from cleaning their dishes and cups at the Parliaments. However, there are some benefits or welfares, including accommodation (1-room flat with no washing machine & private bathroom) and media subscription fees are paid but resources are shared among all MPs. As for the bonus after the retirement, they receive 85% of the salary only if they prove seeking a new job.

When amount of money spent at a minimum level at Sweden, they have set an example for ordinary citizens and to the rest of the World. Drop your thoughts below:
