1. It is difficult to predict scientific progress. But if a Nation pours its effects to crack a scientific or technical problem, the problem is likely to be cracked.
2. If the problem has been cracked by others, cracking the same problem will be a certainty. It is just a matter of time.
3. For China, money and technical knowhow are no longer scarce resources. Money can be printed. Technology can be bought, learned or reverse engineered. Scientists and engineers can be hired.
4. China can already produce low and medium grade chips. It now sets cracking the chip problem as a National Goal. (Just like USA set landing on the moon as a high National priority last century.)wo. When the National pride is involved and the goal is clear, it is easy to unite the Nation.
6. I would not guess an actual time but achieving that goal will carry China to a new technical height.
